Feb 06, 2009 A long time ago, I bought twenty pieces of 1" MIC-6 tooling plate, about half the size of your parts. They were all within .005" on thickness with a good surface finish, but most tapered .002/003 end to end, I used them for moulds and selectively paired them so the outer faces were nominally parallel and the moulds worked fine and didn't flash.

Dec 13, 2018 Had a mic 6 1/4 thick plate for about a year now. Best investment so far for my delta. I also have 750 watt 110 volt stick on and worried about it staying stuck so I sandwiched it between my mic6 plate, two layers of cork sheets, which just happen to come in 300x300 sizes from Micheals here in Canada(B.C).

Per my suppliers here: Mic 6 is "whatever" scraps, bits, remnants they have left over, are melted down, cast, and ground flat. There is no uniformity from batch to batch. That is why Mic 6 anodizes blotchy, and is different with every HEAT. Doug.
