2021-12-24 For a skiff or pram, 1/8 inch aluminum plate is about as thin as can be welded easily. For larger boats, although the ABS rule allows the use of aluminum plate as thin as 5/32 inch, the minimum thickness I use is 3/16 inch regardless of boat size (except for skiffs and prams).

It came with 1/2" plywood and has longitudinal support with 14" separation. If it were just a question of money I'd go with 3/16" but it's going to add 49lbs (104 vs 153 total).
