Sep 19, 2021 The Eastwood Rod Forming Tool is a high quality, industrial style tool capable of generating a powerful leveraged force to create 180° or greater repeatable bends in mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum rods up to 3/8” diameter and flat stock up to 1/2” wide and 3/16” thick. Make everything from exhaust hangers to ornamental iron work.

Bend by hand and weld the joint (skip weld is fine). If you want more of a radius put two cuts about 1/4" apart, then bend and weld. Comment.
Aug 17, 2018 Question: We're having trouble bending 6061-T6 aluminum without cracking, and I was wondering if you could give us a few pointers? Answer: 6061-T6 aluminum is tempered and notorious for not bending easily. From a bending perspective, it's always best to bend these parts in an annealed state and then temper them to the correct condition.
Mar 14, 2012 I am making an aluminum back panel (chip catcher) for a lathe. It will be supported by Al uprights bolted to the rear lip of the chip pan. These uprights are of solid Al rod that is rectangular in X-section, ½" x 1". Each of the uprights needs a 30º bend put in near its bottom end, for mounting to the similarly sloped lip of the chip pan.
Step 1: Place the rod into a tabletop vise, making sure that the section you need to bend is positioned slightly higher than the vise (this allows you to make the bend without indenting the top of the arc with the vise). Step 2: Set up your oxy-acetylene torch, making sure that the valves on each of the tanks are switched off.
May 08, 2010 ill be getting some solid aluminum to use on a antenna . i went online to double check that i had a good idea on bending to the shapes i want . im finding conflicting information on doing it so i figured id ask you folks how to do it at home . ill be using solid aluminum rods from 1/4 inch to possibly 3/8 inch diameter , itll be 6061-T6 or 6061 ...
Aug 22, 2016 Step 1 use just act. and coat the area to be bent with soot.Step 2 turn on O2 and set rose bud to a normal flame. Step 3 heat part until black soot goes away. You have now annealed your 6061-T whatever into T-0 and it should bend without cracking. The aluminum is now as soft and bendable as it can be.

Rotary bends can be made with pipe or tube from .50″ to 4.50 O.D. Square and rectangular materials can also be bent. Our CNC bending equipment allows for high-quality repeatability. Multiple bend configurations can be produced, greatly reducing the amount of welding and polishing required.
Jan 02, 2014 For 0.5-in.-thick 7050 aluminum, the minimum bend radius may be specified as much as 9.5 times material thickness. Again, the minimum inside bend radius is even larger when bending with the grain. In steel between 0.5 and 0.8 in. thick, grade 350 and 400 may have a minimum bend radius of 2.5 times the material thickness when transverse bending ...

Apr 01, 2015 The minimum inside bend radius is even larger when bending with the grain. In steel between 0.5 and 0.8 in. thick, grade 350 and 400 may have a minimum bend radius of 2.5 times the material thickness when transverse bending, while longitudinal bending may require a minimum bend radius that's 3.75 times the material thickness (see Figure 1 ).
Mar 31, 2018 Status QUAD: 2/4/5 StQ 7- 2 elements 40/30 – 4 elements 20/17/15 – 5 elements 12/10. On the models with 4 and more elements, we use an horizontal tie-rods kit, to prevent bending in the horizontal plane. In the very long antennas this kit is absolutely essential to have no problems in crosswind conditions..
May 30, 2020 4032 aluminum is a 4000-series aluminum alloy. The main alloying addition is silicon. Cited properties are appropriate for the T6 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is solution heat-treated and artificially aged until it meets standard mechanical property requirements. 4032 is the Aluminum Association (AA) designation for this material.
