I'm welding aluminium 5754, which grade of TIG filler wire do I need? We would recommend MW 5556 TIG Filler Wire. The higher Mg content in 5556 helps to offset the 3 Mg in the 5754 alloy and steers it away from the 3Mg critical level. There is a matching filler alloy manufactured, but not in common circulation from my experience.
