Jul 04, 2018 Sure, aluminum is lighter, but you basically give up the weight savings in horsepower lost. I'm speaking mainly of straight-line racing here. Paying $5000-6000-7000 for a block that may not be usable on arrival, requires more prep to be usable, and will be down on hp just doesn't seem too smart to me.
