ANDRITZ Sundwig provides customized slitting line solutions for all dimensions, from hot-rolled strip to thinnest, cold-rolled strip, from aluminum to stainless steel, in strip widths from 650 to 2,100 mm and strip thicknesses from 0.1 to 16.0 mm. Advanced and pioneering technologies are specially matched to the requirements of our customers.
Jan 04, 2013 WHAT HAPPENS IN SLITTING : As the metal strip enters the knives (step 1 in diagram), the strip penetrates the knives (step 2) until the forces exceed the ultimate tensile strength of the material and the strip separates (step 3). The penetration forms nick at strip edge and the separation is called the break. The depth of
Slitting. At Precision Strip, we strive to do the exceptional. Each processing line is unique and designed to meet specific requirements. This approach has given us the ability to slit material from .0019" gauge to .375" gauge and material types ranging from "0" Temper aluminum to Martinsite. Strip widths are as narrow as .25" up to 82".
Our foil slitter processing services are available for a wide range of materials, including: And Many More! Protect your products with stainless steel slitting, copper slitting, and aluminum slitting services. If you require any other finishing and processing options, our engineers can find a finishing mix that is perfect for your application.

Mar 11, 2004 Tension-free Cutting. For thin-gauge processing, some coil processors drive the strip into a loop before the slitter so that it is slit under zero tension (see Figure 3).When the slitter pulls material off of the uncoiler under tension, the knives can slip, causing knife marks on the strip and premature knife wear.
Slitting lines obtain narrow coils from a parent coil. The main characteristic of these lines is high productivity. For this purpose, it is essential that the lines be functional and operational in order to minimize changeover times from coil to coil, as well as,
