This manifold is based on our most popular manifold, the Performance Street #52000/52001. It is designed to fit engine swaps using the 1996 and later Vortec (Gen 1+) cast iron heads or the Edelbrock E-Tec aluminum heads. These cylinder heads are very popular in street rods, engine swaps, or the industrial market.
The brass lined crossover and inserts protect the aluminum from salt water corrosion. #2516 is designed for use with 262-400 c.i.d. Chevy V8 marine engines with 1996-later Vortec (L31) cast iron heads. The dual bolt-patten carb pad allows for use of square-bore or spread-bore (with use of supplied adapter plate) carburetors.

The aluminum 5.3 Vortecs mainly came in the SUV's. There is also the LS4 5.3 aluminum block that came in late model Monte SS, Impala SS, and Grandprix GXP.
