The flux turned to liquid when the aluminum was hot enough, and when the brazing rod melted on the joint, the flux pulled it into the joint with capillary action.

Still your brazing rods would not melt. Next, the adjacent rivet popped out as the aluminum canoe continued to heat up. Now I had two rivet holes and a slit in the canoe. Still your brazing rods would not melt! Eventually the rod did start to melt and I was able to fill some what was now two enlarged rivet holes and a slit in the aluminum canoe.

Not all Aluminium Brazing Rods are made the same as I thought. I bought cheap ones off Ebay and they just didn't work. Blew holes in the alloy etc due to excessive heat as they wouldn't melt at correct temp. Ultra Bond cost a little more but worked perfectly. First time every time. Definately worked as advertised. Great service and product. 5
