Building one without rear steer and an aluminum block can get me close to being under the 3000 lbs mark alone. Other items will make it possible.

Supposed to be a 302 with a 500 lift solid crane cam, 11:1 Compression, Roller Rockers, High Pressure Oil Pump, Headers, 3" Flow Master Exhaust, Electronic Ignition, Edelbrock Torker II Aluminum Manifold, 308 Posi Rear End, Traction bars, Shift kit, high dome pistons. He says 325+ HP
ford boss 302 engine. Boss 302 engine used for racing. 1970 block with 69 cylinders. Engine was never in a car before, most likely has been raced. May 26, 2016 I have heard for many years that some of the GT40s had aluminum blocks. On the Bill Lewis website it also mentions developing an aluminum 260 block which was used as the basis of the 1963 Ford pushrod engine for Indy. This is very specific and detailed about the development of the aluminum 260 and worth a read.

Nov 25, 2016 @dear jeff small block ford: you forgot that the clevland based 302 found in the 69 mustang is different to the 302 windsor found in the 79-92 mustangs and are two different engines. so tuning them is completely different like chalk and cheese. espsially as you can a 302C into a 351C by changng the internals.

Oct 06, 2005 With a stock block being this strong you dont have a need for an after market block unless your wanting to get a larger bore size. The 302 block is different is alot weaker. The only option in stock blocks are the 302 boss which you wont find or the "Mexican block" which is really same the boss block but doesnt have 4 bolt mains.
