6061-T651 Aluminum Plate Cut/ Aluminum Saw Cut Circles. Our 6061 plate has T651 temper, indicating it has been solution heat treated followed by a minimal stretching to reduce stresses in the material. The material was then artificially aged to allow the alloying elements to precipitate out of the material, to give immediate maximum strength.

Mar 01, 2014 Slower is generally better when cutting a large circle. A good general maximum cutter speed for aluminum is about 500 feet per minute cutter speed. A 4" diameter circle has a circumference of about 12 1/2" so every revolution the cutter is moving a bit over a foot so shoot for a maximum speed of less than 500 rpm.
Mar 17, 2006 Aluminum cutting Take my word for it I have cut 100's of sheets of aluminum diamond plate. Get a jigsaw (I have a craftsman commercial) that the blade goes back and forth as well as up and down I believe they call it oscilating or orbiting. You will really be surprised how well this cuts. I have tried everything else this WORKS CIRCLE B FAB.
