The tie rod ends in this kit are the GM 1 ton tie rod ends that have been used for years in extreme offroad applications. This means you will have larger stronger tie rod ends with increased longevity. All components of this kit will bolt together, and the entire kit can easily be installed in a few hours with basic hand tools.

Most of them use the exact same tie rod ends, so there probably isn't any real difference between them. The only question is the ends, 1 ton or 2.5 ton (don't see many 1.5 ton ends ...

However, the drag link will be installed over the knuckle for better linkage angles and keeps your drag link up out of harms way. This kit will included a drag link and a tie rod. Your steering linkage will come with our tried and true 1 ton tie rod ends.

评论数: 11Feb 23, 2020 I have made an aluminum tie rod and drag link with the Steer Smarts tie rod ends out of 1-7/8, 7075 aluminum. It looks BEEFY!!! You lose a little bit of adjustment because I have designed the parts to give me maximum thread depth with the tie rod ends but there is still plenty to dial in the alignment.
Jul 31, 2018 Anyone running in rocks with an aluminum tie rod and can tell me how they hold up? Barnes 4WD has a 1.5" solid 7075 for about $200 that I don't think needs the knuckles drilled out so that's attractive. Currie has a modular setup that uses a chromoly bar but it's pretty pricey. I really don't want to keep replacing tie rods every other trip.
