TMeyer Inc.'s objectivity about the 351M/400 has made them innovators of performance parts for this often overlooked mill. By treating the 351M/400 as equals among Windsor's, Clevelands, FE's and 385-series engines, their shop is now serving a special Ford niche made up of F-series, Bronco, Pantera, and XA/XB Falcon enthusiasts.
Ford Performance Parts 351 Aluminum Windsor engine blocks feature cast iron sleeves and are available in 9.2 in. or 9.5 in. deck heights. The 9.2 in. version of Ford's Z351 aluminum Windsor blocks is great for smaller displacement builds without the penalty of a taller deck. Both versions are cast from high strength 356-T6 grade aluminum and ...

Sep 28, 2015 When the blocks are finished with heat treat, they will ship the blocks and intakes together. We MAY see product within a week or so. #trackboss #clevelandblock ===== now that Tim Meyer has taken over production he has implemented some much desrired improvements over the first blocks that were cast by Tod Buttermore
So why not block off the part that is not working and increase the low end torque at the same time? The kit contains 8 aluminum castings. The castings are glued into position with the Miller-Stephenson glue and left to sit overnight. Then you drill and tap and insert a button head bolt from the bottom side of the intake runner.
To that end, Ford Racing created the high-strength M-6010-Z351 aluminum block. At around $3,479.95 from Summit Racing, the Z351 block has a 351-sized 9.5-inch deck height with enough space to swallow strokes to 4.25 inches and bores up to 4.125 inches.
Feb 28, 2014 +1 for Tim Meyer. It's been a while, but he can often fully CNC precision-machine a block to blueprint specs including piston-fitting, and ship it to your door ready to assemble for less than you can have your block only cleaned, decked and bored locally. David [EDIT]To be clear, I meant he can machine one of his blocks.
This is a quick video of 434 ci of TrackBoss Performance 351 Cleveland. This engine use the ALCOA Supra Cast Aluminum Alloy, the strongest aluminum engine block made. There is a spec sheet for the alloy, if anyone is interested, can post it. This engine was built for a customer in Australia. It is a very mild pump gas build.

Jan 22, 2012 suggest either a 393C or a 408C. All three of my own Cleveland powered. vehicles started out 351C's. One is still a 351C, the other two are strokers. (403C = 4.005" bore by 4" stroke, 407C = 4.1" bore race block x 3.85" stroke). For a street use, the strokers give you a wider torque band and/or allow you.
The aluminum block 351W/427 is pretty sturdy and by all accounts should be as reliable as its cast iron counterpart. Only time will tell. The installation was a straightforward bolt in. We installed the engine with the transmission attached. It makes the install a little tricky, but I think it is easier than struggling to install the ...
Sep 30, 2013 Not sure where you're coming from there Alan. There was no reference whatsoever in this post to aluminum blocks being made in the image of iron blocks of course until you raised it. I'm coming from the same place as Larry: repeating some advice given by "pro-shops" with respect to 60's-based...

Dec 30, 2018 Back in 2016, my '71 351C 4V had to be re-rebuilt, (builder put a high volume oil pump in on the original rebuild, took out the cam and main bearings). When I installed the engine again, I also put in a new thermostat. The one I'm still using today without ANY issues is the Stant 13468 180 degree with the 'hat'.

Oct 11, 2011 Tim meyers has alot of goodies, but mostly very high end high dollar stuff, I just finished a 600 horse 400M with 4v heads and have won both races so far in mud bogging. Also a decent intake and small 4 barrel will help, I think a basic build with a good cam and decent C/R will yeild you an easy 325 horses.
Dec 19, 2006 Tim Meyer is stocking pistons for the 400 with "0" deck, flat top or dished KB hypereutectics that are in the $300 range. The 4V heads work fine with 351s on the street if you build it right. The key is choosing the right intake, cam and headers. 400s are even better.
Sep 22, 2003 Looks like the 351W Aluminum block is 93 lbs for 9.5" deck height compared to 195 lbs for the cast iron version. I have not heard of price or availability. I would guess it is on the order of $1500 more then the cast iron. That would mean that an all aluminum 351 could be made for ~365 lbs. Wow!

Aug 13, 2012 Some people do things intelligently and plan them out and it works out beautifully. I'm the other guy. I was originally going to use a 4.6L DOHC from a 96. I went against that route and purchased a 351W block. What this car will be: Reliable and fun on the street and the summer business run...
