Previous owner stated that the truck previously had the 53 block in it, and it cracked. He said they replaced it with a brand new 56 block back in 2001.

I wound up using the wire and not the block heater. Heater was incorrect for my truck (2005 5.9 cummins) though the specs say it will fit. Luckily for me, there was a factory block heater without wire on the truck so I connected the wiring to it.
