4.8/5(9)Nov 03, 2021 Was able to fit the Sequoia/Tundra 04' Skid plate onto the 4Runner. On the 96-2002 years, seems to fit okay if anyone else was interested in adding it on. There wasn't much information on the internet about it, so I figured I'd contribute to helping others with this info. A body shop was able to put it on.

Apr 05, 2017 It slides better. Aluminum will gouge and grab the rocks. I have 3/16" steel skids on my taco, and 1/4" aluminum on the 4 runner. The aluminum ones has been dragged over dirt ruts and held up the truck just fine, but we only do light trails with the 4Runner. The aluminum is also great when you have to pull them off for whatever reason.
Dec 03, 2021 I have this skid plate system on my 2021 JLU Rubicon 2.0T. It is high quality. The installation is do-able in an afternoon with the Jeep on the ground. A helper is good but not necessary. The clearance issue is with the engine skid plate bracket which gets a bit close to the front differential.
